Oh! so you think this is freedom?

Do you really believe this to be the truth?

Safe in haven, not knowing pain

Gratitude nor patience

For the ones who maim.

Protective ones

becoming your cane,

Offering a shade

In the lightest of rain

Numb in comforts,

Dazed by youth

I smile at the naivety of your claim

Careful when you wish for freedom

Careful when you seek the truth

Freedom is not for faint hearted

Truth is not a cozy booth

Burning you down to ashes and dust

Rises the phoenix stronger and tough

Freedom is sweeter than an apple on a tree

Truth is deeper than what you want it to be

Starting from scratch, rejecting ideas so rough

Ego in a cage, desires in a cuff

You must tame the brute

Stroke the mane long enough

Emerge from the soot

Triumphant and buff.

Prepare to wave goodbye

To old beliefs and faith

Yanked out, bare and dry

Of the lies in which you bathe

Owning, attached, belonging to none

Paving your way towards the One

The ultimate truth,

The real freedom.
